Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Tour in Uganda

A K safaris driver guide will pick you up from your lodging or hotel after your breakfast and you will start your day adventure to the northern part of Uganda.

This tour will take you to where the conservation has made it possible to populate the Rhinos back into the wild to complete the big five in Uganda.

This sanctuary is 7 000 hectares of Savannah and woodlands has provided us with land for the rhinos and has over 78 park rangers and security guards who keep 24 hours watch on the Rhinos to ensure their security.

The 70 km2 is surrounded by 2 meter electric fence to keep the Rhinos in and intruders out. This sanctuary is a home to at least 40 mammals and reptilian’s species including monkeys, antelopes, hippos, crocodiles and numerous bird species.

Upon arrival, you will register and be grouped. There is a safety briefing and history about the sanctuary that takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Let the adventure begin, you will either drive or walk on foot depending on the location of the Rhinos.

This is not a zoo it is in the wild, just imagine walking in the Savannah coming across bird species, curious monkey and antelopes and you find yourself close to the Rhinos where you will spend 30 minutes to one hour with the rhinos.

Return in time for lunch and then prepare to drive back to Kampala or Entebbe for your departure and end of this wonderful tour or your could make the tour more interesting by adding Murchison Falls National Park that is found a few miles up north. Spot the other famous Africa Big Five game and see some of nature’s wonders on the banks of the Mighty Nile river.
