Ngamba Chimps & UWEC Behind Scenes

Duration: Single Day, 8 Hours

This is not only a must do activity for those who love adventure but also as you enjoy the tour you are directly supporting conservation with your payment. K safaris introduces to you the un usual program when you visit the orphaned and confiscated chimpanzees on an island in Lake Victoria and behind the scenes at Uganda Wildlife Education Center. This particular tour is different from what you probably would expect from seeing the feeding chimpanzee to actually feeding the giraffe, elephant and much more. memory you will not forget after this activity.

This particular tour has been recommended by us to the visitors that have their flight back home in the evening and have a layover day in Entebbe after their wildlife and gorilla trekking safari. Others have come for conferences and business trips. They usually arrive in Uganda a day before and spend the whole day adventuring this rare opportunity of getting close to most of the animals seen in the wild.

Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary Tour Extension

A K safaris driver guide will pick you up from your lodging or hotel after your breakfast and you will start your drive to the starting point as you go for the adventure to Ngamba on lake Victoria. The sanctuary is located 23 kms from Entebbe and can take about 45 minutes using a speed boat and 1 and ½ hours using a Traditional motorized canoe.

You will view either a morning or afternoon feeding of the chimpanzees from the visitor’s platform area where you will hear an informative talk by one of the sanctuary staff. This is an exceptional experience and encounter that you shouldn’t miss.

You can enjoy sunbathing, stopovers at the equator, bird watching and other wildlife encounters. After this experience you will head back, in time for lunch on the lake. After lunch enjoy yet another great adventure with behind the scenes at Uganda Wildlife Education center.

The Centre’s location on the edge of Lake Victoria 10 minutes away from Entebbe International Airport. Its rich vegetation surprisingly is a home to a wide range of birds, butterflies and other indigenous animals make it wort visiting. Popularly known as “Entebbe Zoo”, was opened in 1952, by the Colonial Government in Uganda, as a reception center for wild animals that were found as casualties (sick, injured, orphaned, confiscated from illegal trade).

You will get close to the animals with an in keeper of the animals for this special moment , you get a chance to feed the animals at close range, interact with them. The famous animals are the giraffe, Eland, Cheetahs, Shoebill stock, Lions, Rhinos and the chimpanzee feeding. After this experience you will drive to your hotel or airport and end of this wonderful day.
