Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

You will be met by a representative from K safaris at Kigali International Airport, meet greet and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can be easily accessed from Kigali. It is a 4 hours’ drive that rewards you with stunning scenic beauty.

Journey Time: 3-4 Hours (Depending on activities involved, Boarder crossing, it can be less or more)

Accommodation: Mutanda Lake Resort (Mid-range)
Meal plan: Full Board basis

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking and optional community walk

After breakfast, you will drive to the registration and briefing point of Gorilla tracking. This is where they usually distribute the different groups after briefing you on the do’s and don’ts while with the gorillas. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda and it takes about 3-9 hours.

Tracking is a captivation and unforgettable experience which more than repays the efforts needed to reach Bwindi or Mgahinga and to trek through the forest. Gorilla tracking can be challenging and needs one to be reasonable fit before undertaking to venture into the activity however from experience no single person in our hands has failed to track the gorillas and the rewarding experience is unforgettable.

Gorilla tracking starts at 8:00am and lasts from a few hours to a whole day depending on where the gorillas where left the previous day. Once spotted you spend 1 hour with them and then return to the starting point for pick up.

Day 3: Bwindi – Kibale Forest Camp home to the Chimpanzees

After breakfast, you will start your journey to Kibale forest national park home to the chimpanzees. There is a lot of scenic beauty along the way as you drive with lots of green and roadside markets, Lunch will be on the way arriving early evening.

Kibale national Park is one of the most magnificent parks and the home of the famous Chimpanzees, man’s closest. It is the most magnificent of Uganda’s tropical rain forest and one of the most rewarding areas to explore, it boasts 13 species of primates including the localized Red Colobus, L’hoest monkeys and the endemic Uganda Manga bay.

Kibale’s major attraction is the Chimpanzees, the delightful Apes, closest to humans than any other living creature. This can be seen swinging in the tree branches as one treks through the forest trails. This park also inhabits the elusive Elephants, Buffalos, giant forest Hogs and antelopes making it one of the most stunning Parks in Uganda.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

You will have a full breakfast, and then drive to the briefing or starting point for chimpanzee tracking. Upon arrival, you will be briefed and grouped in numbers of maximum 8 people but sometimes you can exclusively go alone but on rare occasions. Once you have located the chimpanzees, you will spend a valuable time of 1 Hour and then transfer to the picking point. Drive to the lodge for a hot lunch and relaxation

. In the afternoon, you will close this day with a fascinating swamp walk through Bigodi community where you will be able see different monkey species and lots of beautiful birds such as the Great Blue Turaco.

Return to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Kibale Forest Camp – Entebbe Airport

After Breakfast, transfer back to Entebbe International Airport in time to catch your flight back home and end of the trip.

Kibale Forest Camp (Day 3) – Mid Range

Kibale Forest Camp offers a budget friendly accommodation in the form of 7 non-self-contained tents. These are furnished with comfortable beds, a bedside table and a power outlet for charging your electrical equipment. All tents are placed under a grass thatched roof. The tents share a communal ablution block with showers and flushing toilets. No need to worry about linen as all bedding and towels are provided.
